Kat Hall: Illustration & Design

100 Influences

Medium: Inkjet on Glossy Cardstock

For this project, our teacher told us to catalog 100 of our influences in a form that was not a book. I chose to do a card series because cards were things I collected as a child. I separated the influences into categories of person, place, things and ideas. Then, after coming up with the design and structure, I produced each of the cards, one by one. Each card side was cut by hand, then the sides were glued together and got trimmed again. They were finished with a rounded corner cutter and placed in a sleeves for preservation. It was a mentally and physically exhausting project.
