Cutepocalypse: Side Story

In the Spring of 2008, my painting teacher told our class to make paintings based on collages of things that interested and influenced us. Being into heavily ‘cute’ things, I created an original collage of all the cute mascots and characters I could find. Eventually, my collage led me to a series of paintings I called the ‘Cutepocalypse’. The paintings consisted of these cute characters that wreaked havoc on cities. I then took the characters and made paintings based specifically on them. This happens to be one of them.
